She smiles, and does so, making room for him beside her on the bed. She stretches above her head to pull down a pillow for him, and then for herself.
She wants to rest her head against his shoulder, but the warm solid presence beside her is comforting enough. She does steal a glance at him.
"You look like shit," she says, her tone affectionate.
